Death and Taxes… more like Death IN Taxes… and MORE White House Info.

Here we go!

“We have a number of White House updates that impact…!” -Julie R. TWH

More so, almost all of America if you think about it..What am I talking (writing about)? TAXES…And This does not look good in our pockets for the NEXT YEARS Taxes if you don’t speak up. I know that if the payroll tax cut would not pass…it would mess me up a bit. I already Owe for school Loans…Now Imagine now not being able to get some relief in your taxes because you own a lot more?

“On Wednesday, President Obama spoke at Scranton High School about the American Jobs Act and why passing the payroll tax cut for the middle class is so important. On Thursday, the Senate rejected an extension of the payroll tax cut that is set to expire at the end of the month. If Congress doesn’t act, taxes will go up on approximately 160 million Americans on January 31st. Use the tax calculator on the White House web page to figure out how much more you would have to pay.” -The White House

“President Obama continued to take executive actions this week because We Can’t Wait for Congress:

  • “On Monday the President issued a Presidential Memorandum to modernize government records management; and on Wednesday Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary of Health and Human Services, announced a plan to accelerate the adoption of health information technology.” – TWH

This means, stop the paper, use electronic chart (I will assume). We have it all over mental health and in hospitals… just the next step. I think they will need to hire a Scanning technician with for old files. That is what UCLA did with old x-rays… Yes I use to be a film Liberian that scanned x-rays. I’m pretty sure their paperwork is headed to the scanner too… Be careful WH, you want to know who is scanning our papers VERY well…

  • “Friday, President Obama announced nearly $4 billion of investment in energy upgrades to public and private buildings through the Better Buildings Challenge. These investments will accelerate progress toward the President’s goal of making America’s buildings 20 percent more efficient by 2020 and will also create tens of thousands of construction jobs.” -TWH

I got a phone call recently about solar power… I think its a great idea, it would allow for more jobs.

  • “On Thursday, President Obama marked World AIDS Day by speaking at an event called “The Beginning of the End of AIDS.” The President announced that he is directing $50 million in increased funding for domestic HIV/AIDS treatment and care — an additional $15 million for the Ryan White program for HIV medical clinics across the country, and $35 million for state AIDS Drug Assistance Programs. When compared with all other racial/ethnic groups, Latinos are more likely to die from AIDS related complications within 18 months of HIV diagnosis.” -TWH

I say YES to this! I believe that that in order to fight it, you have to know about it. HIV is bigger than what you think… Just because you may not know much about it, or ignore it, does not mean it does not exist.  To put the word out is easy, to make it happen takes money. Good one.

My Question is… DO you want to have a say on how much you want to get back or give to taxes? I would…Speak up! Use your rights. 🙂

¡¿En Que Mente Cave?! Poor Children Working…. Really?

Janitor Kids Costume

It is unsound when A person allows themselves to say (because they know right?) that poor kids have no work ethic… really?
First of… A child’s “responsibly” is to be a child! To enjoy their education and be able to feel secure and play! Chores are different than Work… Chores show children how to work LATER in their lives.
So I ask…really?
When a person says anything mean about Children.
When a person has no idea what being Poor really means.
What a person will say to grab attention. (You got it, now hear what I have to say).
When a “Leader” chooses to hurt others with his words.
When A person stoops lower than the Low, by DISRESPECTING the “poor” when the people who happen to have less money than you may be in survival mood, working…trying to get through, learning to better themselves. All because a person likes to sound like they are better than “them.” Note: You are not any better than others. The Operative words being NOT. Everyone has a place in his or her world; yours you have chosen to serve a country…so don’t bring them down! (In case you forgot, you are running to serve a country, not just your self or the people who pay you to run).
We are one people with various cultures accept it. Be with it…enjoy it.
Yes, if you say anything about children no matter the Culture… I will speak.  Did you hear? Get use to it, we speak.
Get it right…be a human.  En que mente Cave?!
Come on Gingrich…settle down.

Hold on let me go get a 5 year old to go clean my whole house… Preposterous!

Teaching Your Child Respect: Rules and Consequences: How to Begin. (ages 4-9) Part I

http://internetsafety.instech.knoxschools.org/modules/groups/homepagefiles/gwp/443924/771135/Image/Children-LineDrawing.jpg

I will begin a series called Teaching Your Child Respect: Rules and Consequences for the Month of December.  I strongly suggest you wait and read through all the series before you begin to practice.
 ==========================

Now a days a child is told in school that a parent cannot hit them. And though this is VERY true (see here for Your State laws), there still are ways to educate your child how to respect you and others with out abuse.

The Magic Words are: Consistency, Follow Through, Rules and Consequences.

So here are some tips and facts in teaching your child to respect you, their selves and others.

Before we begin: Write down the Good/Positive aspects of your child, as Many as you can. (if you cannot think of some, ask yourself these question, are they breathing? Are they healthy?)
Write down the Good/Positive aspects of yourself. Remember you are NOT perfect and you are a Parent.  Keep this list in mind when you are reading this process.

So this is how you can do it.

1. Be the role model: If you want your son or daughter to stop loosing control, show them how. You are who they look at…and I AM NOT saying that YOU are always the cause of it all… I’m stating a fact. Children will always look up to parents now matter who you are. Ever hear a child say I still love my mommy even tho she left me?…this is very true. Children need to feel like they are wanted by the people who made them… heck..adults do too.

2. Most behavior is learned. Either at home and/or at school. It is your job as a parent to set the rules and limits. Your teacher is not your babysitter… they are educators of knowledge. Do not expect them to do the work for you. A Therapist will model at times, teach you how to go about it, but at the end of the day… YOU are the Parent…and you will be the one who will “deal/work though/live with” your child.

http://tentativeequinox.files.wordpress.com/2008/08/crush.jpg3. Unleash your own self confidence, not your anger at your children. A child wants and needs rules. They want a parent to be a parent, the person who knows “everything” even though you may not. They want to know that the are secure, they have a safe place to be in. They want to feel and know that no matter what happens, you are there in their lives making the best of it. Too much for you? Well… to bad. You choose to have a child, you choose to then work though it.

BUT my child has a mental disorder…. BUT that should not matter, he or she is still your child, the person you chose to have in your life.  Step up!  “Dude ride the waves.”

4. Respect begets respect. You want your child to respect you, do the same. You want them to be assertive… you already know… then model it.

5. When you say you are going to do something, before you promise think about it, are you going to be able to fulfil the promise? Would you like for someone to promise you something but they don’t come through? NO! So then why would you expect your child to do the same.

6. Set rules. At school children learn to behave because they have class room rules they are able to Visually see the Rules on the wall.. its for a reason, because most children are visual at these ages. AND it helps the teacher revert to something if a child says “I don’t know.”

7. Making to many rules will not help you. Keep them simple.  Make bed, Brush teeth… etc.  Make them a fact. If you say DON’T Do this or Don’t DO that… they will test you even more than they will test you with the simple rules.

8. Review the rules with them, ask them to help you decorate the boarder, include them.

9. Post the Rules in a visible place.

10. Follow your own set rules for the children.

By the Numbers: $1,500 | The White House

“Friends:
On Wednesday President Obama spoke at Scranton High School about the American Jobs Act and why extending and expanding the payroll tax cut for the middle class is so important. Last night, Senate Republicans chose to raise taxes on nearly 160 million hardworking Americans because they refused to ask a few hundred thousand millionaires and billionaires to pay their fair share.
They voted against a bill that would have not only extended the $1,000 tax cut for a typical family, but expanded that tax cut to put an extra $1,500 in their pockets next year, and given nearly six million small business owners new incentives to expand and hire. At a time when families are struggling to make ends meet, the failure to act is unacceptable.”

Gifts

http://www.cgdds.com/images/gift-box-blue_1.jpg

It is the time of the year where you are shopping to buy things for people in your life that make you smile, that at time make you angry and even make you feel nothing…

But giving a gift is more than just buying something to see someone smile… It can be (if you make it) a gesture of peace, of letting someone you care about know how much you know them (by getting them something they like and would actual wear). It can be whatever you want to make it. And I will have to remind you they too will make it whatever they want to make it also. So… since sometimes others may not see if for what you make the gift…i suggest you make a little note… Tell them why you are giving them a gift. A lot of people have lost the use of the card before the gift, and it was meant to inform them the reason why they are receiving their gift.

I hope when you give, you give whole heatedly. That you give something that’s good for the person, not something that would hurt or jeopardize them or their loves ones. AND have fun making or buying the awesome gift you give.

Gratitude, Hope and Actions

http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5283/5282466289_0a9e3d0bdb.jpg

I woke up…
I was able to open my eyes, fell the warmth of my covers and I took a deep breath.

I’ve learned that my actions make a reaction. That what I do does come around. That when I’m in the most of darkest of places I’m able to have hope to get me through. I’ve learned…

But I’ve also become aware that my actions mean more than just doing… for others. And I’m grateful that I’m able to do whatever I can with out forgetting about myself, my family and friends. I’m grateful for that.

So the next time you feel like you do not have anything, keep it simple. You are able to think you have nothing, or feel something… you are breathing.  You are able to have hope if you want it, hope to get you to your next endevour. Allow grace to heal your heart, for I’ve learned we not just have one… we give one to everyone we are kind to, we help and give one to.  Sounds like puppies and rainbows, but where would we be with out the puppies and rainbows?

Keep being grateful, filled with the air you breath everyday. Have hope, have gratitude, act for your and other’s better. Make it your wonderful day.
